Half Step Frenzy

Half Step Frenzy is a puzzle game where you match blocks of varying colors and sizes in order score points that are used in races and battles. When you match 3 or more blocks of the same color or pattern, they will be cleared from the board and everything above them will fall down. If this results in another match of 3 or more being created, those blocks will also be cleared, and so on and so forth. When this process happens twice or more, this is called a chain. If 2 groups of 3 are matched at the same time, this is called a combo. Create lots of chains and combos to outpace your opponent in races, and dominate them with garbage in battles!

BASICS

Every piece in this game can either be considered Half or Whole. Half Blocks consist of pieces that are 1 unit tall, and Whole Blocks consist of pieces that are 2 units tall. 1 piece is made out of 1 Half Block and 1 Whole Block. When matched, Half Blocks are worth 1 point, and Whole Blocks are worth 2 points. If a combo is created, the total score of all the matches is multiplied by the number of different matched groups. If a chain is created, the score from a group is multiplied by the current chain. Points are important regardless of the mode being played, so try to set up structures that will lead to massive chains and combos!

MODES

Dash - Race against the clock to score 1000 points!

Race - Compete against another player or an AI to see who can score 1000 points faster!

Battle - Score points to send garbage to your opponent and see who lasts the longest!

CONTROLS

Left (A) / Right (D) - Move pieces left or right

Up (W) - Flip the order of the piece

Down (S) - Instantly drop your current piece

*WASD controls are used for player 2 when applicable
